
DR MARK MCDONALD, Ophthalmologist MBBS (Qld) FRANZCO

Dr McDonald has been practising Ophthalmology in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions since 2003. He is a graduate of the University of Queensland and trained in Ophthalmology in Adelaide, completing his training in Melbourne.
He holds VMO appointments in Shoalhaven and Wollongong. Prior to entering Ophthalmic training Dr McDonald trained in general surgery and neurosurgery and has published in local and international peer reviewed journals.
Dr McDonald has special interests in the latest techniques in small incisions, cataract surgery, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease.
DR ANGELO TSIRBAS, Ophthalmologist MBBS (Adel) FRANZCO

Dr Tsirbas is a practising Ophthalmologist with special interests in Oculo plastics, medical retina and endoscopic lacrimal surgery. He also holds clinics for facial movement disorder and facial rejuvenation. He is licensed to use Botox and perform cosmetic facial surgery.
Dr Tsirbas is a graduate of Flinders University in Adelaide where he was awarded the University medal. He undertook Ophthalmic training at the Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne and post fellowships training in cataract surgery and medical retina at Flinders University.
Dr Tsirbas has fellowships in Orbital Surgery and Oculoplastics from Columbia University New York and was Associate Professor at Jules Stein Institute in Los Angeles prior to his return to Australia with his wife and young daughter.
Dr Tsirbas helped pioneer endoscopic lacrimal surgery in Ophthalmology in this
country. He has been actively involved in undergraduate and post graduate teaching in Adelaide and the United States.
He frequently presents at national and international meetings and has published widely in peer reviewed journals.
INGRID KELLER B Optom (Hons)

Ingrid trained in Optometry at the University of New South Wales. She worked as a successful solo practitioner for over 10 years in Adelaide prior to marrying and starting a family.
She is a director and the business manager of South Coast Ophthalmology but also assists in daily clinical management of patients. She has special interests in Paediatric and low vision assessment and advanced imaging techniques of the retina and optic nerve.
JENNY ARMSTRONG (RN)

Jenny is a registered nurse with over 15 years experience in Ophthalmology. She assists in clinical management of patients and manages the minor operating theatres in Nowra. Jenny is an active member of AONA and has special interests in occupational health and safety and sterilisation techniques. Jenny is a passionate supporter of community radio and a proud new grandmother.
SANDRA WATTS (EN)

Sandra completed her SEN training at Austin Hospital in Heidelberg, Victoria in 1973. The following year, she undertook a theatre course at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital Melbourne. Sandra is a member of the AONA (Australian Ophthalmic Nurses Association), and is currently registered with the Nurses and Midwives Board of NSW. Sandra completed her Pathrec Certificate in 1995, her
Certificate in Front Office Operations in 2000, and her AMA Medical Accounts Certificate in 2001.
Sandra has worked in the medical and health fields since leaving school. Some of the positions she has held have been in the Occupational Health Clinic (Perth), and the Natural Medicine Clinic (Perth), where a mixture of traditional and natural therapies are used. She also worked in the Mercy Hospital for Women (Melbourne) in the fetal monitoring unit.
Sandra returned to the Ophthalmic area in NSW in the Wollongong area, before joining South Coast Ophthalmology in 2007.
SUE DANIELS (AIN)

Sue has over 20 years experience in report typing and has worked for a number of Specialists since 1986. Sue has a special interest in Aged Care, Community Welfare and has been a foster carer. Sue has trained in Aged Care and holds a Certificate 3, Assistant in Nursing. She has worked in Aged Care Facilities and in-home care for a local Nursing group. She has also been trained as an Ophthalmic Technician.
KERRIE JACKSON
Kerrie has been working in the medical industry as a medical secretary for the past 19 years. She has worked in Radiology, Orthopaedics, Administration (Dubbo Base Hospital) and Ophthalmology. Kerrie has a very caring nature and thrives on learning new things, and so when offered the chance to train as an Orthoptist Assistant, she jumped at the opportunity. Kerrie thoroughly enjoys the one on one time she has with our patients, whilst preparing them to see our Doctors.
MARGARET CANNON MCHENRY

Margaret is our Senior Receptionist who moved to the Shoalhaven area from Sydney (she has travelled world wide). Since arriving in the area, she has worked for various eye surgeons over the years and has many years of experience in reception. She is a very loyal and sincere member of staff.
AMY SCHMIDT

Amy is the youngest member of our team and has completed her Certificate 2 and 3 in Business Administration. She has been trained in front office reception and is the first person to liase with patients on the front desk and on the phone. She is a very friendly and caring employee who shows great empathy towards others.
