1. What should I bring to my appointment?
- Your current glasses
- A written list of medications
- A driver, just in case your eyes are dilated; and a pair of sunglasses for your comfort.
- Your referral (some Optometrists and GP’s will do this for you)
- Your HCC/Pension/Gold card and Medicare card.
2. How long will my appointment take?
Please allow approximately 1 ½ hours for your appointment. This includes your consultation and any possible tests that may take place. Please allow extra time if you are going to have multiple tests.
3. What payment facilities do you have?
We accept cash, cheques, money order, EFTPOS and credit card.
4. Why do I need a new referral?
You will need a referral if you want to claim your fee back from Medicare. Referrals from Specialists last 3 months and referrals from GP’s and Optometrists last 12 months, unless specified otherwise. If you are a new patient please bring your referral with you but in a lot of cases your Optometrist or GP will fax/email it directly to us. Please check that this has been done for you. Follow up patients will be notified when they make a follow up appointment. If you are unsure please call our office and we will be happy to advise you whether your referral is still in date.
5. Is there wheelchair access into your rooms?
Our Nowra rooms have a disabled park right outside our front door with good wheelchair access through the front door. Our Kiama rooms have disabled parking with good wheelchair access at the rear of our rooms.
